A highly successful Guardian Girls Karate Seminar was held in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, Ireland, this past weekend, marking a significant step forward for Karate’s project to empower women through Karate training.

A seminar of the Guardian Girls Karate Programme was held in Olbia, Italy as part of the ongoing global expansion of the Karate project against Gender-Based Violence. Organised by the Italian Federation of Judo, Wrestling, Karate, and Martial Arts (FIJLKAM the activity was held in conjunction with the 2024 Mediterranean Karate Championships and brought together dozens of women from the region to learn tools to defend themselves against situations of gender-based violence.

A Guardian Girls Karate seminar was held last week in Curaçao. The activity, integrated into the Guardian Girls Global Karate project, successfully empowered nearly 30 women through a unique and impactful training program.

The first edition of the Guardian Girls Karate Instructors Course was successfully held this past week in Madrid (Spain). Organised by the World Karate Federation in coordination with the programme partners, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Koyamada International Foundation (KIF), the course aimed at initiating the creation of a network of WKF Guardian Girls Karate Instructors to empower women around the world to effectively face situations of Gender-Based Violence through Karate training.

Karate’s initiative against Gender-Based Violence, the Guardian Girls Karate Project, was honoured Tuesday by the High Council of Sports of Spain. The programme was bestowed with the recognition from Spain’s main sports officials at the International Conference on Gender Equality in Sport in Madrid.

The “Guardian Girls Global Karate Project” continues its presentation around the world. Karate’s programme to fight Gender-Based Violence celebrated its fourth presentation event in Fukuoka (Japan) on the occasion of the Karate 1-Premier League there.

The American Centre in Fukuoka hosted the official presentation of the “Guardian Girls Global Karate Project” in Japan. Held with the cooperation of the United States Consulate in Fukuoka, the event had the participation of the United States Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel via video message.

The third event of the “Guardian Girls Global Karate Project” was held from May 12 to 14 in Rabat (Morocco). Karate’s remarkable contribution to society was once again showcased at the presentation of this project that puts Karate at the forefront of the fight against Gender-Based Violence.
