The Women’s Commission is an initiative of the World Karate Federation to further develop karate as an equal sport. Thus, it safeguards women's rights and interests in progress and maintains the balance in fair play and gender representation.
Among its core tasks, the Women's Commission aims to provide a channel for suggestions and demands and promote ideas and actions to improve the development and image of karate as a sustainable and progressive sport while preventing gender harassment and/or abuse of any kind.
The Women’s Commission is available for collaboration and as an advisory body to all national or continental federations. Its goal is to promote equal sport within the WKF family, by increasing the number of female representatives in different areas of Karate, among many other initiatives.
Other WKF commissions, national team members, coaches, referees, and officials are also eligible to raise issues with the Women´s Commission.
