Iranian Athletes Shine on Final Day of Karate 1-Series A Tbilisi 2025

The opening tournament of the 2025 Karate 1-Series A season concluded in Tbilisi, Georgia with an exciting final day of action. The last four categories crowned their champions, and Iranian athletes once again demonstrated their dominance, claiming two more gold medals to their impressive count.  

Female Kumite -61kg: Mehrnegareh Ahmadi of Iran defeated Anastasiya Chupina 4-0

Mehrnegareh Ahmadi delivered a flawless performance to secure the gold medal in the Female Kumite -61 kg category. Facing Anastasiya Chupina, representing Individual Neutral Athletes, Ahmadi showcased technique and control to win 4-0.


Male Kumite -75kg: Vahab Shahmir of Iran triumphed over Erik Rahozenko

In one of the most thrilling matches of the day, Vahab Shahmir clinched victory against Ukraine’s Erik Rahozenko in the Male Kumite -75 kg category. The bout ended in a 6-6 tie, with Shahmir declared the winner.


Female Kumite -68kg: Bonu Egamberdieva of Uzbekistan edged out Vira Fohlinska 1-0

Bonu Egamberdieva of Uzbekistan emerged victorious in the Female Kumite -68 kg category, narrowly defeating Ukraine’s Vira Fohlinska 1-0. The match was a closely fought defensive battle, with Egamberdieva landing the decisive point in the final moments.  


Male Kumite -84kg: Eduard Gasparian overwhelmed Shukhratjon Nomozov 8-1

Eduard Gasparian, representing Individual Neutral Athletes, dominated the Male Kumite -84 kg final against Uzbekistan’s Shukhratjon Nomozov with an emphatic 8-1 victory. Gasparian’s explosive techniques left Nomozov struggling to respond.


The final day of the 2025 Karate 1-Series A Tbilisi delivered unforgettable moments, with Iranian athletes leading the charge and competitors putting on remarkable performances. The season of Karate 1-Series A continues with the event to be held in Larnaca, Cyprus from February 14 to 16.
