The Karate 1 Premier League 2024 kicked off with a bang, with a thrilling opening day that had Egyptian and Turkish athletes among the big winners across the categories at stake.
Female Kata: Saeko Azuma and Mo Sheung Grace Lau Will Meet in Final
In the Female Kata category, Saeko Azuma of Japan will face off against Mo Sheung Grace Lau of Hong Kong in the final. Azuma secured victory over Dilara Bozan of Turkiye with a score of 42.20 to 41.40 while Lau clinched her spot in the final by defeating Maho Ono of Japan with a score of 42.80 to 44.00.
Male Kumite -75kg: Yurur and Abdelaziz Advance to Final Showdown
Omer Faruk Yurur of Turkiye and Abdalla Abdelaziz of Egypt battled their way to the final in the Male Kumite -75kg category. Yurur secured his spot by beating 5-5 against Enzo Berthon of France, while Abdelaziz defeated Abilmansur Batyrgali of Kazakhstan with a score of 8-3.
