WHAT
- The 2024 Karate 1-Youth League Fujairah is the first event of the season of the series of international Karate tournaments for youngsters.
- After Fujairah, the season of Karate 1-Youth League will travel to A Coruna (Spain) from May 16 to 19, Porec (Croatia) from June 27 to 30, Cancun (Mexico) from August 8 to 11, and Venice (Italy) from December 5 to 8.
- The Karate 1-Youth League is a competition conceived to highlight the impact of Karate at young ages. Established under the umbrella of Karate 1, the Karate 1-Youth League is a platform for the development of youngsters in their quest to progress in the sport.
WHERE
- The event will take place at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah.
- Located in the Gulf of Oman, Fujairah hosts the Karate 1-Youth League for the second consecutive year. Previously, in 2022, Fujairah had welcomed a Karate 1-Premier League event.
- The UAE is a major hub of Karate in the region and has hosted multiple international karate events over the years, including Karate 1-Premier League events in Dubai and the 2021 World Senior Championships in Dubai.
WHEN
- The tournament is scheduled for February 22 to 25.
- Starting on Thursday, at 09:00 (local time GMT +4), the competition will continue throughout the weekend until Sunday.
- The finals will be held at the end of each competition day.

WHO
- Over 2000 athletes from 78 countries have registered to participate in the event.
- This number continues the outstanding response of young athletes to participate in these events and confirms the Karate 1-Youth League as the most popular karate competition in the world.
- Last year the Karate 1-Youth League in Fujairah gathered 1084 athletes from 66 countries.
- The powerhouse nation of Egypt presents the largest delegation in Fujairah with 274 athletes. Iran, with 251 athletes and Kazakhstan with 136 karatekas also compete with a large number of competitors.
- Leading countries of Kazakhstan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia topped the final medal table of the event last year.
HOW
- The competition follows a knockout format.
- The event comprises 46 categories, and it is destined for competitors aged 12 to 20.
