Karate 1-Premier League Paris celebrates values of Karate with thrilling opening Day

The city of Paris witnessed a spectacular start to the Karate 1-Premier League season as competitors from around the globe showcased their skill and determination on the opening day. Grand Winner Yorgelis Salazar, Japanese representatives in Kata, and Olympians Abdalla Abdelaziz and Anita Serogina were among the stars of the day. 

Female Kata: Japanese karatekas emerge victorious

 

In the Female Kata category, the spotlight was on Saeko Azuma of Japan, who demonstrated impeccable skill to cause one of the big upsets of the day after defeating compatriot Mirisa Ohuchi. In a tightly contested semifinal, Azuma secured the win with scores of 42.10 to 43.00. Meanwhile, Maho Ono of Japan triumphed over frontrunner Mo Sheung Grace Lau of Hong Kong with scores of 42.70 to 42.10, earning her a surprising spot in the finals.

 

Male Kumite -75kg: Enes Bulut and Abdalla Abdelaziz dominate

 

The Male Kumite -75kg category witnessed thrilling battles, with Enes Bulut of Turkiye defeating Kilian Cizo of France 3-1. On the other side, Olympian Abdalla Abdelaziz of Egypt delivered an impressive performance, upsetting Faruk Yurur Omer of Turkiye with a commanding 8-0 victory to secure his spot in the finals.

 

Female Kumite -61kg: Serogina and Golshadnezhad advance

 

In the Female Kumite -61kg division, Olympian Anita Serogina of Ukraine emerged victorious as the four-time Karate 1-Premier League winner upset World champion Li Gong of China with a scoreline of 2-1. Atousa Golshadnezhad of Iran surprised the favourites and defeated Oleksandra Sholokhova of Ukraine with a 3-0 victory, earning a place in her first final of Karate 1-Premier League

 

Male Kumite -60kg: Hashimoto and Samdan secure final spots

 

The Male Kumite -60kg category showcased intense battles, with Hiromu Hashimoto of Japan overpowering Abdullah Shaaban of Kuwait with a commanding 9-1 victory. Eray Samdan of Turkey secured a hard-fought victory against Rayyan Meziane of France with a close 2-1 score, earning the spot in his ninth Karate 1-Premier League final.

 

Female Kumite -50kg: Grand Winner Salazar and Salama shine

 

Yorgelis Salazar of Venezuela used the Grand Winner status as she defeated Yuliia Palashevska of Ukraine with a 3-1 score, securing her place in the finals of the Female Kumite -50kg category and thus aiming to maintain her prevalence in the division. Meanwhile, Reem Ahmed Salama of Egypt showcased her dominance by defeating Olympian Moldir Zhangbyrbay of Kazakhstan with an impressive 12-4 victory.

 

Male Kumite -84kg: Mastrogiannis and Chobotar reach final

 

In the Male Kumite -84kg division, Konstantinos Mastrogiannis of Greece emerged victorious with a 2-0 win against Walid Deghali of Belgium, in his first final of Karate 1-Premier League. Valerii Chobotar of Ukraine secured his ticket to the title-deciding bout by defeating Rikito Shimada of Japan with a close 4-2 victory.
