Karate 1-Premier League Paris achieves milestone as registration hits full capacity across all categories

The registration process for the upcoming Karate 1-Premier League Paris has now concluded with all categories filled to capacity. The successful registration of competitors demonstrates the anticipation of the Karate community ahead of the opening Karate 1-Premier League event of the year, to be held in Paris from January 26 to 28.
In a milestone moment for the WKF, the full registration of athletes for the Karate 1-Premier League Paris underscores the global appeal of the sport and shows the resounding response from athletes worldwide as the new structure of Karate’s biggest events comes into effect in 2024.
All the registration slots across all 12 divisions have been filled for the first time since the limitation of participants to 32 athletes per division, drawing competitors from all five continents and 58 countries and fostering a sense of unity within the karate community.
The diverse pool of registered competitors reinforces karate's ability to bring together individuals with a shared passion for the sport and includes 11 out of the 12 Grand Winners and 8 out of the 12 defending world champions. Grand Winners Anzhelika Terliuga of Ukraine, Elena Quirici of Switzerland,Nishiyama Kakeru of Japan, and Abdel Rahman Almasatfa of Jordan, and World Champions Li Gong of China, Irina Zaretska of Azerbaijan, Ali Sofuoglu of Turkiye, and Youssef Badawy of Egypt, as well as World Championships medallists Alizee Agier and Laura Sivert representing hosts of France will be among the stars of the event.
As the anticipation builds for the upcoming competition, the world is set to witness a celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and the unifying power of karate on a truly global scale. The event is scheduled to be held at the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium from January 26 to 28.
