Karate on the programme of The World Games 2025

Karate will once again be part of the programme of The World Games. The multi-sport event will be held in Chengdu (China) in August 2025 and will have Karate as one of the leading disciplines in the sports programme.
A constant fixture in the programme of The World Games since the inception of the event in 1981, Karate has once again been confirmed as one of the core sports on the programme. The next edition of The World Games will be held in Chengdu (China) from August 7 to 17, 2025, with the Karate competition initially slated for August 8 and 9.
No less than eight karatekas per category will compete at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu. Karate will participate in Chengdu, with both divisions of individual Kata and Kumite.
The last edition of The World Games was held in 2022 in Birmingham (United States). As a testament to the global impact of Karate, 41 nations were represented in the Karate competition of The World Games 2022. Spain topped the medal table of the Karate event with four medals, including two golds, followed by Egypt and Ukraine.
