Successful anti-doping outreach activity at Budapest Senior World Championships

The Senior World Championships in Budapest (Hungary) showcased the WKF’s commitment to preventing doping in the sport as an anti-doping outreach activity was held on-site during the event.

Building on the education activities of the World Karate Federation of previous years and effectively organised in cooperation with HUNADO (Hungarian Anti-Doping Group), the activity gave athletes the opportunity to put their anti-doping knowledge to the test with an interactive tournament-style quiz platform that allowed karatekas to learn the best practices to prevent doping cases.

The activity was hailed as a success by participants and organisers alike, thanks to the commitment and cooperation of HUNDADO’s Barbara Kallo and her team. The anti-doping stand at #KarateBudapest2023 was a hit among the competitors, and with its excellent location, situated at the warm-up area of Papp Laszlo Arena, it gathered over 200 participants.

Moreover, HUNADO’s team headed by Gabriella Juvancz led the anti-doping testing during the event in Budapest.
