Chiara Manca and Yu Hin Tang win gold in Kata at World Combat Games

Chiara Manca of Belgium and Yu Hin Tang of Hong Kong won the gold medals of Female and Male Kata in the Karate competition at the 2023 World Combat Games. The two promising karatekas dominated the competition and showed their ascent to the elite of the sport with compelling performances.

In Female Kata, the crown went to Chiara Manca of Belgium. The current U21 continental championships runner-up defeated Leidy Daniela Castano of Colombia in the final with scores of 42.20 to 41.10.

 

A two-time underage continental championships medallist, Chiara Manca excelled in her presentation of “Suparinpei” kata and added one more title to her promising career.

 

After winning silver at the 2022 Junior Continental Championships, Manca went on to repeat medal at the 2023 EKF U21 Championships. She also claimed the crown at the 2023 Karate 1-Youth League Porec.

 

In Male Kata, Yu Hin Tang of Hong Kong took the gold medal. The promising Kata ace upset Guido Polsinelli of Italy in a thrilling clash for the title. A two-time U21 continental medallist, Yu Hin Tang performed “Kishimoto No Kushanku” Kata and won the crown with scores of 42.00 to 41.20.

 

Yu Hin Tang is the 2021 U21 continental champion and took bronze at the 2022 AKF U21 Championships. This season, he claimed the silver medal at the Karate 1-Youth League in Fujairah (UAE).
